Meal Plans
Meal Plans are the formulas or recipes used in counter sales. Each meal plan defines which ingredients (products) are used and how many scoops of each product go into one serving.
What is a Meal Plan?
A Meal Plan represents one item you serve at the counter — for example:
- Protein Shake → 2 scoops Whey Protein, 200 ml Milk
- Mass Gainer Shake → 3 scoops Mass Gainer, 300 ml Milk
- Pre-Workout Mix → 1 scoop Pre-Workout, 250 ml Water
When a counter sale uses a meal plan, the listed quantities are automatically deducted from stock based on the number of servings ordered.
Creating a Meal Plan
- Go to Counter Sales → Meal Plans in the sidebar
- Click + New Meal Plan
- Fill in the meal plan details:
- Name (required) — short and descriptive, e.g. "Protein Shake"
- Price (optional) — selling price per serving; you can override this at the time of sale
- Description (optional) — internal note
- Add each ingredient in the Items section:
- Product — select from your Products catalogue
- Scoops — how many scoops of this product per serving
- For each scoop, choose the default flavour / variant (see below)
- Click + Add Row to add more ingredients
- Click Create Meal Plan
After creating, you are taken to the meal plan detail page where you can add more items or edit individual items.
All products used as ingredients must exist in your Products catalogue. If a product is missing, add it in the Products section first.
Scoop defaults (flavour selection)
When you add a product to a meal plan, you set a default variant (flavour) for each scoop. For example, if a meal plan uses 2 scoops of Whey Protein, you can default Scoop 1 to Chocolate and Scoop 2 to Vanilla.
These defaults pre-fill the variant selector when staff create a counter sale — saving time at the counter. Staff can still change the flavour per sale if the customer requests something different.
If a product has only one variant, all scoops are auto-selected with that variant.
Meal plan detail page
Click a meal plan name to open its detail page. From here you can:
- See a summary (name, price, item count)
- View all ingredients with their scoop counts and default variants
- Add a new item — click the + button in the items section
- Edit an item — click the pencil icon to change the scoop count or default variant
- Remove an item — click the trash icon next to any ingredient
- Edit the meal plan info — click the Edit button in the header to change the name, price, or description
Editing a Meal Plan
Clicking Edit from the detail page or the list opens an edit form with:
- Name, Price, Description fields
The items list is not shown in the edit form — to add, edit, or remove items, use the buttons on the detail page directly.
Changes apply to future counter sales only. Past sales are not affected.
Deleting a Meal Plan
Click the trash icon in the meal plans list. Meal plans that have existing sales history cannot be deleted — if you no longer need one, simply stop using it for new sales.
Managing individual items
From the meal plan detail page, you can add and edit items one by one:
Adding an item:
- Click + Add first item (if empty) or the add button
- Select the product (products already in this meal plan are excluded from the list)
- Enter the number of scoops
- Set the default variant for each scoop
- Click Add Item
Editing an item:
- Click the pencil icon on any ingredient row
- Adjust the scoop count (scoop selectors update automatically)
- Change the default variant for any scoop
- Click Save
Keep meal plan names short — they appear on the prep queue display your counter staff sees throughout the day.
